Role Description

The Project Manager will be an on-site, full-time position located in Frederick, MD. As a Project Manager at Dorman Home Remodeling, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of your assigned residential remodeling projects. You will manage schedules, delivery of materials, budgets, customer communications, customer satisfaction, quality control, safety and the coordination of in house carpenters, trade partners and subcontractors. Your role begins once the design and project planning phase is completed and a construction contract is signed. Our project managers typically run 2-4 jobs in various phases at the same time.

Here’s some information about the role:

  • Oversee the execution of remodeling projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards and client service.
  • Help develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines.  Reporting via Microsoft Planner and QuickBooks Time.
  • Self-perform certain aspects of the project when appropriate, depending on the size and scope of the work.
  • Budget Management:  Support the Production Manager with reviewing project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, schedules and reporting.
    Ensure project costs are controlled and any variances are addressed promptly.
  • Customer Communication and Satisfaction:  Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the construction phase.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, address client concerns, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Quality Control:
    ○ Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is performed to the highest standards and in compliance with design specifications, building codes and safety.
    ○ Implement quality control measures and resolve any issues that arise during construction.
  • Trade Partner and Subcontractor Management:
    ○ Coordinate and manage the work of trade partners and subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project schedules and quality standards.
    ○ Negotiate purchase orders,  manage relationships, and resolve any conflicts that arise.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    ○ Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and change orders.
    ○ Prepare and submit regular progress updates via Microsoft Office Suite of products included Microsoft Teams, Planner, etc.

And here’s some info about qualifications we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years experience in residential remodeling building & construction.
  • Strong leadership, communication, carpentry and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, permitting, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 tools.
